It’s very easy to use crystals and gemstones in a Reiki healing to enhance the entire healing experience. This article will go over some of the basics. In Reiki energy healing there is a flow of universal energy that is introduced or offered to the recipients energy field. There are several things that can happen:
- The recipient accepts the Reiki healing energy to re-energize
- The recipient uses the flow of energy to help them release energies that no longer serve them
- The recipient doesn’t need or want the energy and it just flows through
Most of the energy healing sessions I have done are the combination of release and renewal. Let’s go over that again: releasing energies that no longer serve or are foreign; and renewing or filling with the universal Reiki energy.
Sometimes the energies released are intense, heavy or counterproductive to wellness. Many times there is a strong desire on the part of the recipient to communicate about what they have been holding on to, or acknowledge the energy block. Energy flows to where your attention goes, and if they are talking to you, or focusing on you while you give the energy healing there could possibly be a transference of energies.
This is when I use gemstones and crystals as a healing tool. I usually carry with me a rainbow obsidian stone. This stone absorbs energy and is self clearing. I simply hand the stone to the healing recipient to gently hold on to during the healing, and they naturally direct their attention to the stone. Two things are accomplished: they get the added value of the stone to help in the clearing and releasing, and the healing is completed in a very clean but supporting way. Even though the stone is naturally self clearing I still drain any residual energy from it, expressing gratitude, before I put it back in my pocket. I also leave my stones outside in the full moon light to revitalize and cleanse them.
